Robert Abrahamsen, MD adds Distinction by Obtaining Status as Certified Hyperbaric and Wound Care Specialist through the American Board of Wound Healing

WEST ALLIS, WI – The American Board of Wound Healing (ABWH) is pleased to announce that Robert Abrahamsen, MD has recently obtained dual certification in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. This specialized certification is granted to clinicians who have demonstrated an advanced knowledge in the fields of hyperbaric medicine and wound care, and have provided documentation of their excellence and leadership in these fields.

The ABWH serves to maintain and improve the quality of wound management by evaluating professional, clinical and educational standards of practice by using an examination process which is designed to assess the medical knowledge, judgment, professionalism and clinical skills required to provide quality patient care in the fields of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. The ABWH currently offers five areas for certification: Physician Certification in Wound Care, Physician Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine, Certified Hyperbaric and Wound Specialist (CHWS) Certification, Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS) Certification, and Certified Skin and Wound Specialist (CSWS) Certification.
The intentof the certification of hyperbaricand wound care technologists in the United States and internationally is to provide assurance to the public that a clinician has demonstrated high levels of clinical competence.All certification exams offered by the ABWH are recognized and endorsed by the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine (ACHM) and the American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA).
