Frequently Asked Questions at Advanced Vein Center

What kind of veins do you treat?

At the Advanced Vein Center, we specialize in helping men and women of all ages enhance their vein health, treat venous disease, address common vein conditions like swelling in the leg, spider veins, and varicose veins, and eliminate leg veins that can cause discomfort and a decrease in self-confidence.

If you have questions about leg veins and aren’t sure where to go for help, contact us today to learn more.

What does the consultation process involve?

A full consultation at the Advanced Vein Center entails an ultrasound exam and post-exam meeting with one of our vein experts.

The ultrasound exam provides our team with a more comprehensive understanding of your condition(s) so that we can develop a fully informed and customized treatment plan for each and every patient. Following the ultrasound, one of our expert medical providers will meet with you to discuss the findings and the suggested treatment and care. At the end of your appointment, you will receive a complete cost estimate based on your recommended treatment plan.

This visit is billed to insurance; the out-of-pocket cost is determined by your insurance coverage/individual plan and if your deductible has been met.

What types of insurance do you accept?

We participate with most insurance companies. We also accept Medicare and MaineCare! Should you have more specific questions about insurance we would be happy to speak with you individually.

Do I need a referral to be seen at Advanced Vein Center?

If you have questions about your spider veins, varicose veins, leg pain, or swelling in the legs, contact us today to discuss your concerns with our staff.

A referral from your primary care physician may be necessary depending on the type of insurance plan you have. Typically, HMO plans require referrals. We also require that all MaineCare patients have referrals from their primary care physician.
